Bait Al Zubair
Bait Al Zubair is a cultural foundation, originally a private museum opened to the public in 1998.
This much-loved privately owned museum showcases Omani heritage in thematic displays of traditional handicrafts, furniture, stamps, coins, and some old models representing Omani rural and urban environments
The Bait Al Zubair Museum is located in the old city of Muscat. The museum has evolved into the cultural center of Muscat and international exhibitions of contemporary art are held in the Zara Gallery within the grounds of the museum.
A modern cafe and a shop selling quality souvenirs usually make visitors stay longer than they expected.
It was funded by the Al Zubair family, the founders of the museum. The museum’s collection of artifacts and exhibits is considered the best in private ownership.
The museum complex consists of five buildings (Bayt Al Bagh, Bayt Al Dalalil, Bayt Al Oud, Bayt Al Nahda and Gallery Zara) and a garden with several traditional cafes and gift shops.
